About The Show
It’s sweet. It’s savory.
It’s five strangers putting their hearts, reputations, and baking skills on the line to become the crème de la crème of bakers at a county fair.
A determined young woman dreaming of opening her own bakery.
A twice-divorced nail technician who wants to fit in with her new boyfriend’s circle of friends.
A shy school nurse who is torn between family obligations and her love of baking.
A mysterious man from Brooklyn who arouses suspicion about his past.
And the reigning champion who disguises her ruthless drive to win with smiles and pleasantries.
Two will resort to sabotage in their attempt to win.
Others will discover hidden strengths that help them deal with pressure.
They’ll all have to make tough choices about who they are and what they truly want.
And they’ll all get their JUST DESSERTS - including the pompous meteorologist acting as emcee.
But it’s the personal journey each contestant takes that will remain with audience members long after the winner is announced.
It’s all happening at the Jefferson County Bake-Off where the competition may be fierce, but the results are always satisfying!

Creative Team
Brad Ross
Music
Winner of the Richard Rodgers Award, Brad has three musicals published by Concord Theatricals. His music has been played by The Philadelphia Orchestra, performed at The Kennedy Center, sung by renowned soprano Diana Damrau, produced Off-Broadway by The York Theatre Company, and posted all over YouTube and Instagram. Brad's musical setting of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" has been sung by vocalists and choirs with over 35 symphony orchestras nationwide. Brad has composed music in diverse styles that include theater, smooth jazz, classical, R&B, classical, children's, gospel and sacred.
Barbara Campbell
Book & Lyrics
Barbara Campbell has written more than a dozen musicals for children and families, a cantata, and various choral pieces. Her full-length musicals have been produced in the U.S., Great Britain, and New Zealand; her musical adaptation of Far from the Madding Crowd was optioned for Broadway. With composer Byron Janis, she wrote “A Hero Passing By,” the theme from the TBS television special “Gary Cooper: American Life, American Legend.” Barbara is an award-winning author with five novels published by DAW Books, including Spellcast (written as Barbara Ashford), a romantasy set in a magical summer stock theatre.
